Bruna Di Virgilio is a musician based in Amsterdam and Milan. Her practice moves between performance, composition and sound, exploring contemporary and new music languages. At the core of her work is an interest in the interplay between acoustic instruments and electronics, with a focus in the resonant qualities of keyboards, pipes and air-driven instruments. Her projects unfold at the intersection of the acoustic and the electronic, the composed and the improvised, developing an exploratory practice constantly in motion.

Rooted in a classical background, she works with piano, cello, harmonium, organs and live-electronics, investigating sound-making processes shaped by breath, air and resonance. Her work spans contemporary and experimental music, improvisation, music theatre and transdisciplinary projects. Alongside her work as a soloist, chamber musician and member of contemporary ensembles, she creates music and sound for theatre, film and podcasts. Her practice also extends into teaching, writing, research and socially engaged projects, allowing her to work across different contexts and forms of music-making.

Her work has been presented in concert halls, theatres, festivals across Europe, including Orgelpark and Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam, Romaeuropa Festival, Korzo Theatre in The Hague, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Centre Court Festival in Cologne, LAC in Lugano, Piccolo Teatro and Sala Verdi in Milan, Teatro Argentina in Rome, Milan Triennale, Teatro Goldoni in Venice, Bled Contemporary Music Festival in Slovenia, Rencontres Musicales de Méditerranée in France and Aurora Chamber Music Festival in Sweden.
